True Skin – A look at Memory & Augmentation

Really cool short film about 2 of my favourite ideas – augmented reality & memory as identity.

This takes place in a futuristic world where human augmentation is the norm. “Naturals” are being phased out in favor of more cutting-edge models. Kaye, the protagonist, finds himself on the run for stealing a particularly advanced modification.

We all know technology is changing our lives, and who knows where exactly this will lead us. This film explores the idea that your memory is your identity, and everything else can be augmented.

Shot in Bangkok, and modified extensively in post production this film has all the feel of a teaser for something bigger. Although that is not the case. Hopefully, it is not the last we’ll hear of Ivan Kander.
